How we built ClerqLegal to automate immigration notice processing

Overview

We built ClerqLegal, a platform that automates notice processing, case updates, and client communication for immigration law firms.

Immigration lawyers spend hours processing government notices: USCIS and EOIR forms that arrive daily. Every notice needs manual review, deadline tracking, case file updates, and client communication. It’s repetitive, high-stakes work that consumes hours every day.

ClerqLegal automates it. The system reads incoming notices, extracts deadlines, updates case files, and emails clients automatically. It runs end to end without manual intervention.

In its first month, ClerqLegal reached $100K ARR, signed 13 paying firms, and processed more than 10,000 notices.

Challenge

Immigration firms process dozens of notices daily. Each notice triggers the same workflow: read it, calendar the deadline, update the case, notify the client. Manually. Hours every day.

The problem runs deeper than the repetition itself. Firms already run on Clio, Filevine, and Docketwise, and they're not switching. So anything new has to work inside what they already use. Clients speak different languages. None of these systems talk to each other, and nothing connects the steps automatically.

We needed a system that worked across fragmented tools, handled multilingual communication, integrated with products that lacked APIs, and fit into the firm’s existing workflow.

Solution

ClerqLegal was built inside a working immigration practice. Every feature exists because a real firm needed it, and the whole system sits on top of the tools firms already use instead of replacing them.

It reads USCIS and EOIR notices the same way a paralegal would, only faster: extracting receipt numbers, deadlines, and hearing dates in seconds.

Deadlines push directly to your calendar and case management system without anyone having to add them manually.

Client updates get drafted and sent using your firm's own templates and tone, either reviewed before sending or run automatically.

The system understands immigration form types natively. It recognizes each notice type, knows what follow-up it requires, and routes the next step automatically.

It also connects directly to USCIS and EOIR to pull case updates without anyone checking portals manually.

Results

Firms using ClerqLegal got hours back every day, time their teams now spend on casework instead of data entry. Deadlines sync automatically, case files update in real time, and clients get notified in their language the moment a notice comes in.

Clerqlegal was production ready in six weeks, and firms adopted it quickly because it worked inside the tools they already used. Junior staff reclaimed time previously lost to repetitive work, and missed deadlines dropped sharply.
